MINISTRY OPPORTUNITIES. Moravians believe that all members of the congregation are ministers of Christ's Church. We ask all members to prayerfully consider ways that they can serve in Christ's name.   It is in giving of ourselves that we receive!         It is important to serve as leaders to connect with our members, families and greater community.

In fall of 2019, our congregation extended outreach to community needs such as: providing backpacks and school supplies to a local elementary school, delivering thanksgiving meals to families in need, offering monthly groceries for a community food bank,  providing lunch to our Colonial Regional Police force, raising funds for fostering services for Outcast animal rescue and providing supplies for residents at a transitional housing center in New York City.
A list of our m
inistry opportunities can be found within the document below.

In our world today, there are many people who suffer with memory related cognition issues.  Most of us are familiar with Alzheimer's disease as one example of dementia often diagnosed in adults after the age 80.

Diagnosis of Alzheimer's disease and other related dementias is difficult news for older adults and their loved ones.  How will they cope?

Morningstar Living in Nazareth has offered dementia supportive services and resources for decades.  They are a recognized leader in services for older adults.  Their residential campuses include Moravian Hall Square and Heritage Village in Nazareth.  Morningstar Living is an independent ministry supported by the Eastern District Moravian Church.  In addition to residential services, Morningstar Living also owns and operates a home service company called Senior Solutions.

Advent has agreed to be a host partner in ministry for this new community outreach specifically aimed at helping families dealing with a loved one who has dementia and still living in a home setting.

The Morningstar Memory Cafe will be offered two times each month as a social opportunity for the person suffering with dementia and a carer.

Dementia certified staff and volunteers will be involved in each cafe offering to provide a safe and friendly experience for everyone.

Attendance is free but reservations are requested in advance of each gathering session in order to provide the best experience for all who attend.

This free outreach program is supported by Morningstar Senior Solutions and funding support from individual donors.
